Over the course of the semester, students in the Covering Education seminar interned inside one of three New York City public schools to learn firsthand what life is like inside the nation's largest public school system. Students in the seminar also mentored individual teens, tutored math, and helped publish a class newsletter.

The students, in turn, blogged about their experiences as well as their thoughts on issues in education like mayoral control, class size and sex education.
